One trusting in his own heart is a fool, but the one walking in wisdom shall be delivered.

The pride of man brings him low, but the humble of spirit takes hold of honor.

The fear of man brings a snare, but he trusting Jehovah is set on high.

And whom have you dreaded and feared? You have lied and have not remembered Me, not setting it on your heart. Have I not been silent, even from forever, and you have not feared Me?

The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is incurable; who can know it?

And, behold, one of those with Jesus, stretching out the hand, drew his sword and struck the slave of the high priest and took off the ear of him.

But all this is happening that the Scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled. Then all the disciples ran away, forsaking Him.

And Peter followed Him from a distance, even to the court of the high priest. And going inside, he sat with the underofficers to see the end.

And Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And one girl came near to him, saying, And you were with Jesus the Galilean.

And he, going out into the porch, another saw him and said to those there, And this one was with Jesus the Nazarene.

But he denied Him, saying, Woman, I do not know Him.

Well! For unbelief they were broken off. And you stand by faith. Do not be highminded, but fear.

So then the one thinking to stand, let him watch that he not fall.

But for the cowardly and faithless ones, and disgusting ones, and murderers, and fornicators, and users of magic, and idolaters, and all liars, their part will be in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
