And Elisha had become sick with his illness in which he died; and Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept on his face, and said, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and its horsemen!
And Elisha was watching, and he was crying, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen! And he did not see him again. And he took hold on his garments and tore them into two pieces.
A son honors his father, and a servant his master. and if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My fear? says Jehovah of Hosts to you, O priests who despise My name. But you say, In what have we despised Your name?
Therefore, if you, being evil, know to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father, the One in Heaven give good things to those that ask Him?
Furthermore, indeed we have had fathers of our flesh as correctors, and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits, and we shall live?
See what manner of love the Father has given us, that we may be called children of God. Because of this the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
