and over the load carriers and overseers of everyone doing work for each separate service; and of the Levites were scribes and officers and gatekeepers.
Also, all the heads of the priests, and the people were continually acting unfaithfully according to all the disgusting things of the nations; and they defiled the house of Jehovah that He had sanctified in Jerusalem.
this Ezra went up from Babylon. And he was a skilled scribe in the Law of Moses, which Jehovah the God of Israel had given. And the king granted him all he asked, according to the hand of Jehovah his God on him.

And He began to teach them that it is necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things and to be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise again.
And the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him in the same hour. And they feared the people, for they knew that He told this parable against them.
Therefore Judas, having taken the cohort and under-officers from among the chief priests and the Pharisees, comes there with lights and torches and weapons.
And there was a great cry. And the scribes of the part of the Pharisees rising up, they were contending, saying, We find nothing bad in this man. And, If a spirit spoke to him, or an angel, let us not fight against God.
