Then the chief priests and the scribes and the elders of the people were assembled to the court of the high priest, the one named Caiaphas.

And as He was yet speaking, behold, Judas came, one of the twelve. And with him was a numerous crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

And early morning occurring, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel together against Jesus, so as to put Him to death.

For He was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

And He began to teach them that it is necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things and to be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise again.

And the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him in the same hour. And they feared the people, for they knew that He told this parable against them.

And the chief priests and the scribes stood vehemently accusing Him.

Therefore Judas, having taken the cohort and under-officers from among the chief priests and the Pharisees, comes there with lights and torches and weapons.

Jesus answered and said to him, You are the teacher of Israel, and you do not know these things?

The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things about Him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers, that they might seize Him.

And the scribes and the Pharisees bring to Him a woman having been taken in adultery. And standing her in the midst,

And there was a great cry. And the scribes of the part of the Pharisees rising up, they were contending, saying, We find nothing bad in this man. And, If a spirit spoke to him, or an angel, let us not fight against God.

And it happened on the next day that the rulers and elders and scribes gathered into Jerusalem;

And they stirred up the people and the elders and the scribes. And coming on, they together seized him and led him into the sanhedrin.
