A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench, until He bring forth judgment to victory.” Isa. 42:1-3

I will seek the lost, and I will return the banished. And I will bind up the broken, and I will make the weak strong. But I will destroy the fat and the strong, I will feed them with judgment.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me. Because of this He anointed Me to proclaim the gospel to the poor ones; He has sent Me” to heal those being broken in heart, “to proclaim freedom to captives, and to the blind ones to see again,” to send away in freedom the ones being crushed,

He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their sorrows.

And I saw, and behold, a white horse! And the One sitting on it had a bow. And a crown was given to him, and He went out conquering, and that He might conquer.

So that on the contrary, you ought rather to forgive and comfort such a one, that he not be swallowed up by the excessive grief.

For so says the One being high and being lifted up, He who inhabits eternity, and Holy is His name: I dwell in the high and holy place, even with the contrite one and the humble of spirit, to make live the spirit of the humble ones and to make live the heart of the contrite ones.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

Now, behold, you have trusted for yourself on the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt, which if a man lean on it, it will go into his hand and pierce it! So is Pharaoh the king of Egypt to all those who trust in him.

Come to Me, all those laboring and being burdened, and I will give you rest.

He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; He shall gather lambs with His arm; and bear them in His bosom; those with young He will lead;

But thanks be to God, the One always leading us in triumph in Christ, and the One revealing through us the fragrance of the knowledge of Him in every place.

But as these were going, Jesus began to say to the crowds about John, What did you go out into the wilderness to behold? A reed being shaken with the wind?

And when Moses heard, then it was good in his eyes.
