And going out, Jesus saw a large crowd, and had compassion on them, because “they were as sheep having no shepherd.” And He began to teach them many things. Num. 27:17; Eze. 34:5
And he said, I have seen all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep that there is no shepherd to them. And Jehovah said, No lords are to these; they shall each man return to his house in peace.
And he said, I have seen all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep with no shepherd for them; and Jehovah said, For these, no master. Let them return, each man to his own house in peace.
My people are lost sheep, their shepherd has led them astray; they turned them back on the mountains, they have gone from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting place.
For the family idols speak iniquity, and the divining ones have seen a lie and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain. Therefore they pulled up stakes like a flock; they were afflicted because there was no shepherd.
who may go out before them, and who may go in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in, so that the congregation of Jehovah may not be as sheep to whom there is no shepherd to them.
But having called His disciples near, Jesus said, I am filled with pity on the crowd, because they already have remained with Me three days and have nothing they may eat. And I do not desire to send them away fasting, that they may not faint in the way.
And the crowds saw them going, and many recognized Him. And they ran together on foot there, from all the cities, and came before them, and came together to Him.
But knowing this, the crowds followed Him. And having received them, He spoke to them about the kingdom of God. And He cured the ones having need of healing.
For which reason He is obligated in all things to become like His brothers, that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the things respecting God, in order to propitiate for the sins of His people. For in what He has suffered, being tried, He is able to help those being tried.
For we do not have a high priest not being able to sympathize with our infirmities, but One having been tried according in all things according to our likeness, apart from sin.
