And they clothed Him with purple, and having plaited a crown of thorns, they put it around Him.

And the soldiers led Him away inside the courtyard, which is the praetorium. And they called together all the cohort.

And they began to salute Him, Hail, king of the Jews!

And Herod having despised Him with his soldiery, and having mocked Him by putting around Him luxurious clothing, he sent Him back to Pilate.
