and the two shall be one flesh;” so that they no longer are two, but one flesh. Gen. 2:24

Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall become one flesh.

Therefore, what God yoked together, let not man put apart.

Or do you not know that he being joined to a prostitute is one body? For He says, “The two shall be into one flesh.” Gen. 2:24

So, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies, (he loving his wife loves himself),
