But being sad at the Word, he went away grieving; for he had many possessions.

And they come to you as peoples come, and they sit before you as My people. And they hear your words, but they do not do them. For they produce much love with their mouth, but their heart goes after their unjust gain.

And the seed sown into the thornbushes is this: the one hearing the Word, and the anxiety of this age, and the deceit of riches, choke the Word, and it becomes unfruitful.

But having heard the Word, being sorrowful, the young man went away, for he had many possessions.

Then Judas, the one giving Him over, seeing that He was condemned, caring afterward, returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders,

And looking at him, Jesus loved him, and said to him, One thing is lacking to you. Go, sell as many things as you have, and give to the poor. And you will have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me, taking up the cross.

And having looked around, Jesus said to His disciples, How hardly those having riches will enter into the kingdom of God!

For Herod feared John, knowing him to be a holy and just man, and kept him safe. And hearing him, he did many things, and gladly heard from him.

And having become deeply grieved, but because of the oaths and those reclining together, the king did not wish to reject her.

And He said to them, Beware, and be on guard from covetousness; for one’s life is not in the abundance of the things belonging of him.

But hearing these things, he became very much grieved, for he was an extremely rich one.

For the grief according to God works repentance to salvation without regret. But the grief of the world works death.

For be knowing this, that every fornicator, or unclean one, or covetous one, who is an idolater, has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

For Demas deserted me, loving the present age, and he went to Thessalonica. Crescens went to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.
