I am a laughingstock to his friend; he calls to God, and He answers him; the just one, the blameless one is a mockery;

If not there were mockers with me, and my eye rests on their insults.

All who see Me scornfully laugh at Me; they open the lip; they shake the head, saying,

He is despised and abandoned of men, a Man of pains, and known of sickness, and as hiding our faces from Him, He being despised, and we did not value Him.

He says to them, Go back, for the little girl has not died, but she sleeps. And they ridiculed Him.

And being lovers of money, the Pharisees also heard all these things; and they derided Him.

And all were weeping and bewailing her. But He said, Do not weep. She has not died, but is sleeping.

But putting all outside, and taking hold of her hand, He called out, saying, Little girl, arise!

Jesus says, Lift the stone. Martha, the sister of the one having died, said to Him, Lord, he already smells, for it is the fourth day.
