And passing from there, Jesus saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, Follow Me. And rising up, he followed Him.

And passing on, He saw Levi the son of Alpheus sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, Follow Me. And rising up, he followed Him.

Also He appointed Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,

And after these things, He went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, Follow Me!

Simon, whom He also named Peter; and his brother Andrew; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew;

Judas brother of James; and Judas Iscariot, who also became the one giving Him over.

Then Thomas, the one having been called Twin, said to the fellow disciples, Let us also go, so that we may die with Him.

But Thomas, one of the Twelve, the one called Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.

And when they went in, they went up to the upper room where they were waiting: both Peter and James, and John and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alpheus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas the brother of James.

And after they were silent, James answered, saying, Men, brothers, hear me:

But I saw no other of the apostles if not James, the brother of the Lord.

and knowing the grace being given to me, James and Cephas and John, the ones thought to be pillars, gave right hands of fellowship to Barnabas and to me, that we go to the nations, but they to the circumcision;

James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes in the Dispersion, greeting:
