And Herod having despised Him with his soldiery, and having mocked Him by putting around Him luxurious clothing, he sent Him back to Pilate.

But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of mankind, and despised by the people.

So says Jehovah, the Redeemer of Israel, His Holy One, to the despised of soul, to the hated of the nation, the servant of rulers, Kings shall see and rise up; and rulers shall worship, because of Jehovah who is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel; and He elects You.

But a birthday feast for Herod being held, the daughter of Herodias danced in the midst and pleased Herod.

And answering, He said to them, Indeed, Elijah coming first restores all things. And how it has been written concerning the Son of Man that He should suffer many things and be utterly despised?

And the chief priests and the scribes stood vehemently accusing Him.

Then Jesus came outside, wearing the thorny wreath and the purple garment. And he says to them, Behold, the Man!

For if a gold-fingered man in splendid clothing comes into your synagogue, and a poor one in dirty clothing also comes in;

and you look on the one wearing the splendid clothing, and say to him, You sit here well; and to the poor one you say, You stand there, or, Sit down here under my footstool;
