But first He must suffer many things and be rejected from this generation.

He is despised and abandoned of men, a Man of pains, and known of sickness, and as hiding our faces from Him, He being despised, and we did not value Him.

From then Jesus began to show to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to go away to Jerusalem, and to suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised on the third day.

Jesus said to them, Did you never read in the Scriptures, “A Stone which the builders rejected, this One became the Head of the Corner? This was from the Lord, and it is a wonder in our eyes?” Psalm 118:22, 23

Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be given over to the chief priests and to the scribes. And they will condemn Him to death and will give Him over to the nations.

And He began to teach them that it is necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things and to be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise again.

For He was teaching His disciples, and said to them, The Son of Man is given over into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And being killed, He will rise up the third day.

And taking aside the Twelve, He said to them, Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things will be fulfilled which have been written through the prophets to the Son of Man.

And scourgimg Him, they will kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again.

and said to them, Thus it is written, and so the Christ must suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day. No OT passage

saying, The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.

He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.

so that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he said, “Lord, who believed our report? And the arm of the Lord, to whom was it revealed?” Isa. 53:1

But today you have rejected your God who Himself is your deliverer from all your evils and your distresses; yet you say to Him, But set a king over us! And now present yourselves before the face of Jehovah, by your tribes and by your families.

And Jehovah said to Samuel, Listen to the voice of the people, to all that they say to you. For they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from reigning over them.
