But woe to you, Pharisees, for you pay tithes of the mint, and the rue, and every plant, and pass by the judgment and the love of God. It was right to do these things, but not to leave aside those.

And that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all trees, of wine, and of oil, to the priests, to the rooms of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground to the Levites; and they, the Levites, might have the tithes in all the cities we did service.

For Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice is to be chosen more than sacrifice.

It is good that you should take hold of this; yea, also from this do not let your hand rest; for he who fears God shall come forth with all of them.

O man, He has declared to you what is good. And what does Jehovah require of you, but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to be humble to walk with your God?

A son honors his father, and a servant his master. and if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My fear? says Jehovah of Hosts to you, O priests who despise My name. But you say, In what have we despised Your name?

You have wearied Jehovah with your words. Yet you say, In what way have we wearied Him? When you say, Every doer of evil is good in the eyes of Jehovah, and in them He delights; or, Where is the God of justice?

Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me. But you say, In what have we robbed You? In the tithe and the offering!

But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of Heaven before men; for you do not enter, nor do you allow those entering to go in.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and you have left aside the weightier matters of the Law: judgment, and mercy, and faith. It was right to do these, and not to have left those aside.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which outwardly indeed appear beautiful, but within are full of bones of the dead, and of all uncleanness.

I fast twice on the sabbath; I tithe things, as many as I get.

but I have known you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves.

If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar. For the one not loving his brother whom he has seen, how is he able to love God whom he has not seen?

And Samuel said, Does Jehovah delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold! Obeying is better than sacrifice; to give attention is better than the fat of rams.
