Leviticus 21:1

And Jehovah said to Moses, Speak to the priests, Aaron’s sons, and you shall say to them, None shall be defiled for the dead among his people.

And he shall not come to a man who died to defile himself; but for father, or for mother, or for a son, or for a daughter, for a brother, or for a sister who has not had a husband, they may defile themselves.

Hear this, O priests, and attend, house of Israel. And give ear, house of the king. For the judgment is toward you, because you have been a snare to Mizpeh, and a net spread on Tabor.

And you shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead; and you shall not put on yourself any etched mark; I am Jehovah.

he shall not come near any dead person; not for his father; not for his mother shall he defile himself.

And now, O priests, this command is to you.

And you shall know that I have sent this command to you, to be My covenant with Levi, says Jehovah of Hosts.

He that touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.

This is the law when a man dies in a tent: Everyone coming into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.

And whoever in the open field touches one that has been pierced with a sword, or one that has died of himself, or the bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.

Command the sons of Israel, and they shall send every leper out of the camp, and everyone flowing, and everyone defiled by a dead body.

All the days of his separation to Jehovah he shall not go near a person who died.
