You shall rise up in the face of gray hair; and you shall honor the face of an old man; and be afraid of your God. I am Jehovah.

The glory of young men is their vigor, and the honor of old men is the gray head.

Listen to your father, this one fathered you, and do not despise your mother when she is old.

And the people shall be oppressed man against man, and a man against his neighbor. The boy will act insolently against the old one, and the one being despised against the one being honored.

Rulers were hanged by their hands; the faces of the elders were not honored.

You shall not revile the deaf one, nor put a stumbling block before the blind one; for you shall revere your God. I am Jehovah.

Therefore give over to all their dues: to the one due tax, the tax; to the one due tribute, the tribute; to the one due fear, the fear; to the one due honor, the honor.

Do not sharply chastise an older man, but exhort as a father; and younger ones as brothers,

honor all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.
