And you shall say to them, Because your fathers have forsaken Me, a statement of Jehovah, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have bowed down to them, and have forsaken Me, and have not kept My Law.
So says Jehovah, A voice was heard in Ramah, wailing, bitter weeping: Rachel weeping over her sons; she refuses to be comforted for her sons, for they are not.
What is it to you that you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes and the teeth of the sons are dull?
Jehovah is slow to anger, and of great mercy, bearing away iniquity and transgression; and by no means will clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation.
