He walled around me and I cannot go out; He has made heavy my bronze chain.

To a man whose way is hidden, God has made a hedge about him.

You have taken ones knowing me from me; You have made me a disgusting thing to them; I am shut up, I will not go out.

My eye mourns because of affliction; O Jehovah, I have called on You every day; I have spread out my palms to You.

And they took Jeremiah and threw him into the pit of Malchiah, the king’s son, which was in the court of the prison. And they let Jeremiah down with ropes. But no water was in the pit, only mud. And Jeremiah sank into the mud.

And now, behold! I loose you today from the chains which were on your hand. If it is a good thing in your eyes to come with me into Babylon, come. And I will set my eye on you. But if it is an evil thing in your eyes to come with me into Babylon, stay. Behold, all the land is before you, to go to the good way and to the upright way in your eyes, go there .

The yoke of my transgressions is bound by His hand, they intertwine, they rise on my neck. He caused my strength to stumble. The Lord gave me into their hands. I am not able to rise up.

He walled up my ways with cut stone; my paths are crooked.

On our necks we are pursued; we grow weary; rest is not given to us.

And He has raised up His words which He spoke against us, and against our judges who judge us, by bringing on us a great evil, which under the whole heavens has not been done as it has been done to Jerusalem.

Therefore, behold, I will hedge your way with thorns, and I will wall up her wall, that she shall not find her paths.
