And when he was distressed, he sought the face of Jehovah his God, and was humbled exceedingly before the face of the God of his fathers;

I have sewed sackcloth on my skin, and I have thrust my horn in the dust.

Behold, I am vile! What shall I answer You? I will put my hand to my mouth.

And there is hope for your latter time, a statement of Jehovah, that your sons will return to their own territory.

so that you may remember and be ashamed. And you will not any more open your mouth, because of your shame, when I am propitiated for you for all that you have done, a statement of the Lord Jehovah.

Who knows if He will turn back and have pity and leave a blessing behind Him, a food offering and a drink offering for Jehovah your God?

Who knows? He may turn, and God may be moved to pity and turn back from the anger of His face, that we will not perish.

Seek Jehovah, all the humble ones of the earth who have done His judgment; seek righteousness; seek meekness. It may be you shall be hidden in the day of the anger of Jehovah.

And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, the sinner!

But we know that as many things as the law says, it says to the ones within the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be accountable to God.
