Cursing, curse Meroz, said the Angel of Jehovah; curse the ones living in it because they did not come to the help of Jehovah, to the help of Jehovah among the mighty ones.

And next to their hand the Tekoites made strong. But their nobles did not bring their necks to the work of their Lord.

Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of evil?

Cursed is he who does the work of Jehovah deceitfully, and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood.

And she sent and called for Barak, the son of Abinoam, out of Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, Has not Jehovah the God of Israel commanded? Go and draw toward Mount Tabor, and take ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali, and of the sons of Zebulun with you.

Then the remnant that remained tread on the noble ones of the people; Jehovah trod for me among the mighty ones.

And the Angel of Jehovah came and sat under the oak which is in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite. And his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress, to hide it from the eyes of Midian.

And he said to the men of Succoth, Please give loaves of bread to the people at my feet, for they are weary; and I am pursuing Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian.

And the rulers of Succoth said, Is the palm of Zebah and Zalmunna now in your hand, that we should give bread to your army?

And he went up from there to Penuel, and spoke to them in this same way. And the men of Penuel answered him as the men of Succoth had answered.

And all this company shall know that Jehovah does not save by sword and by spear, but that the battle belongs to Jehovah, and He has given you into our hand.

And Saul said to David, Behold my elder daughter Merab! I will give her to you for a wife; only, you be a son of strength for me and fight the battles of Jehovah. And Saul said, Let not my hand be on him, but let the hand of the Philistines be on him.

Please, bear with the transgression of your handmaid, for making Jehovah shall make a sure house for my lord. For my lord has fought the battles of Jehovah, and evil has not been found in you all your days.

And now, please let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If Jehovah has moved you against me, let Him accept an offering. And if the sons of men, they are cursed before Jehovah; for they have driven me out today from joining myself with the inheritance of Jehovah, saying, Go, serve other gods.
