King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

And, behold, an old man, a sojourner, came from his work from the field in the evening. And the man was from the hills of Ephraim; and he was sojourning in Gibeah. But the men of the place were sons of Benjamin.

By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until your return to the ground. For you have been taken out of it; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

Man goes out to his work, and to his labor until the evening.

For you shall surely eat the labor of your hands; you shall be happy, and all is good to you.

Wealth from vanity shall diminish, but he who gathers by hand shall increase.

In all pain there is profit, but the word of the lips tends only to poverty.

Prepare your work outside, and make it ready for yourself in the field, and afterwards even build your house.

And I gave my heart to seek and to search out by wisdom concerning all which is done under the heavens. It is an evil task God has given to the sons of men, to be afflicted by it.

The sleep of the laboring man is sweet, whether he eats little or much. But the sated lust of the rich will not allow him to sleep.

They have deeply corrupted, as in days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity; He will call their sins to account.

The one stealing, let him steal no more, but rather let him labor, working what is good with the hands, that he may have something to give to the one that has need.

For even when we were with you, we commanded this to you: If anyone wills not to work, neither let him eat.

And it happened in those days when there was no king in Israel, there was a man, a Levite, living on the further side of the hills of Ephraim. And he took a wife to himself, a concubine out of Bethlehem-judah.

And they passed on and traveled on. And the sun went down on them near Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin.

And they turned aside there, to go in to stay the night in Gibeah. And he went in and sat in a broad place of the city. Yet there was no man that took them into his house to spend the night.

And he lifted up his eyes and saw the man, one sojourning, in a broad place of the city. And the old man said, Where are you going, and where do you come from?
