They were near Jebus, and the day was spent. And the young man said to his master, Please come and we shall turn to this city of the Jebusites, and stay in it.
And the king and his men went to Jerusalem, to the Jebusites, those dwelling in the land. And one spoke to David, saying, You shall not come in here except the blind ones and the lame ones will turn you away, saying, David cannot come in here.
As for the Jebusites, the ones living in Jerusalem, the sons of Judah could not dispossess them. But the Jebusites dwell with the sons of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.
And the sons of Benjamin did not dispossess the Jebusites living in Jerusalem. And the Jebusites live with the sons of Benjamin in Jerusalem until this day.
But the man was not willing to stay the night. And he rose up and departed, and went until he was opposite Jebus (it is Jerusalem) and with him was a team of saddle asses. And his concubine was with him.
But there is straw and food for our asses, and also there is bread and wine for me, and for your concubine, and for the young man with your servants; there is no lack of anything.
