And there was no deliverer, because it was far from Sidon, and they had no word with any one of mankind. And it was in the valley which is beside Beth-rehob. And they built the city and lived in it.

And the sons of Ammon saw that they were odious to David. And the sons of Ammon sent and hired Syrians from Bethrehob, and Syrians from Zobah, twenty thousand footmen; and the king of Maacah with a thousand men; and the men of Tob with twelve thousand men.

And your servant had two sons. And the two of them fought in the field, and there was no deliverer between them. And the one struck the other, and caused him to die.

And they came into Gilead, and to the land of Tahtim-hodshi (Lowest Moon). And they came to Dan-jaan, and around to Sidon.

Now think of this, you who forget God, lest I tear, and not is any to deliver:

lest he tear my soul like a lion, ripping, and there be no one to deliver.

And He said, You shall not again still rejoice, oppressed one, virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, cross over to Kittim, even there is no rest to you.

Be ashamed, Sidon, for the sea has spoken, the strength of the sea, saying, I have not travailed, and not brought forth, I have not made grow young men and not raised up virgins.

And they went up and spied out the land, from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, coming to Hamath.

And Jehovah gave them into Israel’s hand, and they struck them, and pursued them to the great Sidon, and to the burning waters, and to the valley of Mizpeh eastward. And they struck them until they did not leave a survivor to them.

and Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah to great Sidon.

In those days there was no king in Israel. And in those days the tribe of the Danites was seeking an inheritance for itself to inhabit. For to that day it had not fallen to them by inheritance among the tribes of Israel.

And they called the name of the city Dan, by the name of their father Dan, who was born to Israel. And yet Laish was the name of the city at first.

And the five men walked, and came to Laish. And they saw the people living securely in its midst, according to the custom of the Sidonians, quiet and in security. And there were none to humiliate in any thing, none possessing ability to restrain; and and they were far away from the Sidonians, and they had no word with any one of mankind.
