And he returned the silver to his mother. And his mother took two hundred silver pieces and gave them to a refiner. And he made it a graven image, and a molten image. And it was in Micah’s house.

And you shall defile the plating of your carved images of silver; and the plating of your molten images of gold. You shall strew them as a menstruous cloth; you shall say to it, Go out!

He fashions wood, and stretches a line; he marks it with a stylus; he shapes it with a carving tool, and he marks it with a compass. And he makes it according to the figure of a man, as the beauty of a man, to sit in the house.

What does an image profit, for its former has carved it; a molten image, and a teacher of falsehood? For does the former trust in his work on it, to make mute idols?

Cursed is the man who makes a carved or molten image, a disgusting thing to Jehovah, the work of a craftsman’s hands, and who sets it up in a secret place! And all the people shall answer and say, Amen!

And he gave back the eleven hundred silver pieces to his mother. And his mother said, I have wholly consecrated the silver to Jehovah from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image. And now, I am returning it to you.

And the man Micah had a house of gods. And he made an ephod, and household idols, and consecrated one of his sons. And he was a priest for him.

And the five men, those who went to spy out the land, came in there, and they took the carved image, and the ephod, and the household idols, and the molten image. And the priest was standing at the opening of the gate, and the six hundred men who were girded with weapons of war.
