And he kindled fire on the torches, and sent them out into the grain-stalks of the Philistines, and burned from the stacks and the grain-stalks, and to the vineyard and the oliveyard.
And he said to his servants, Behold, Joab’s allotment is to my hand, and to him is barley there. Go and set it on fire. And Absalom’s servants set the allotment on fire.
When a fire breaks out and finds thorns, and a stack of grain, or standing grain, or the field is burned up, repaying the one kindling the fire shall repay.
And the seventh year you shall let it rest and let it alone, and the needy one of your people shall eat. And what they leave, the animals of the field shall eat. So you shall do to your vineyard, to your oliveyard.
And the Philistines said, Who has done this? And they said, Samson, the son-inlaw of the Timnite, because he took away his wife and gave her to his companion. And the Philistines went and burned her and her father with fire.
