And he had thirty sons who rode on thirty ass colts. And they had thirty cities, which are called The Towns of Jair to this day, which are in the land of Gilead.

And the king said to Ziba, What are these to you? And Ziba said, The asses are for the king’s household to ride on, and the bread and the summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine for the wearied to drink in the wilderness.

And Jair the son of Manasseh went out and captured their towns, and called them Towns of Jair.

Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Towns of Jair, until today.

And he had forty sons, and thirty grandsons, who rode on seventy he-asses; and he judged Israel eight years.

You that ride on white asses, you that sit on rich carpets, and you going on the way, sing out!
