Joshua 22:9

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

And the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh turned and left the sons of Israel from Shiloh in the land of Canaan, to go to the land of Gilead, to the land of their possession in which they have possession, according to the command of Jehovah by the hand of Moses.

And he caused him to reign over Gilead, and over the Ashurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.

And he lived as far to the east as to the entrance of the wilderness from the Euphrates River, because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim is the strength of My head; Judah is My lawgiver;

And the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad had many livestock, a very great multitude. And they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead. And, behold, the place was a place for livestock.

And Moses said to them, If you will do this thing; if you will arm for battle before Jehovah,

and the land is subdued before Jehovah, then afterwards you shall return and be guiltless before Jehovah, and before Israel. And this land shall be your possession before Jehovah.

Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock shall be there in the cities of Gilead.

even Moses said to them, If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben pass over the Jordan with you each man armed for battle before Jehovah, and the land shall be subdued before you, then you shall give to them the land of Gilead for a possession.

And I commanded you at that time, saying, Jehovah your God has given you this land to possess it. And you shall pass over armed before your brothers, the sons of Israel, all the sons of strength.

It shall be until Jehovah shall give rest to your brothers like yourselves, and they, too, have possessed the land which Jehovah your God is giving to them beyond the Jordan. Then you shall each man return to his possession which I have given to you.

And Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. And Jehovah caused him to see all the land; Gilead to Dan;

and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites, and of the Maachathite, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salcah;

And their border was to Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half of the land of the sons of Ammon, to Aroer, which is before Rabbah;

and the half of Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, belonged to the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, to the half of the sons of Machir for their families.

And when they came to the regions of the Jordan in the land of Canaan, then the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh built an altar there by the Jordan, an altar of grand appearance.

And all the sons of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, and the land of Gilead, to Jehovah at Mizpeh.

Gilead remained beyond the Jordan; and why did Dan stay in ships? Asher sat at the shore of the seas, and remained by his havens.
