And God said to Jonah, Is it right your being angry and being pleasing for you over the plant? And he said, Being angry and being pleasing is right for me, even to death.

And Ahab came into his house sullen and angry over the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken. For he had said, I will not give the inheritance of my fathers to you. And he lay on his bed and turned away his face, and would not eat food.

One tearing his soul in his anger, shall the earth be forsaken for your sake? Or shall the rock move from its place?

For beware wrath, that He not incite you to mockery; then a great ransom cannot turn you aside.

For provocation kills the foolish one, and passion causes the one being simple to die.

But it was a great calamity in the eye of Jonah, and it kindled anger for him.

And Jehovah said, You had pity on the plant for which you did not labor with it, and not you made it grow, which was the son of a night and it perished the son of a night,

And it happened when the sun shone, God had appointed a scorching east wind; and the sun struck Jonah’s head, so that he fainted; and he asked for his life to death. And he said, Better is my death than my life.

Then He said to them, My soul is deeply grieved, even unto death. Stay here with Me, and keep awake.

For the grief according to God works repentance to salvation without regret. But the grief of the world works death.

And in those days men will seek death, and they will not find it. And they will long to die, yet death will flee from them.

And it happened, because she distressed him with her words all the days, and urged him; and his soul was shortened, even to death,
