But knowing their wickedness, Jesus said, Why do you test Me, hypocrites?

And one of them, a lawyer, questioned Him, testing Him, and saying,

But Jesus kept silent. And answering, the high priest said to Him, I put You on oath by the living God that You tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God.

And coming near, the Pharisees asked Him if it is lawful for a man to dismiss a wife, testing Him.

Should we give, or should we not give? But knowing their hypocrisy, He said to them, Why do you tempt Me? Bring Me a denarius that I may see.

And they watched Him, whether He will heal him on the sabbath, that they might accuse Him.

And the Pharisees went out and began to question Him, seeking from Him a sign from Heaven, tempting Him.

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, testing Him and saying, Teacher, what by doing shall I inherit eternal life?

And tempting Him, others were seeking a miraculous sign from Heaven from Him.

And at dawn, He again arrived into the temple; and all the people came to Him. And having sat down, He was teaching them.

Neither over-tempt the Christ, as some of them tempted, and were destroyed by serpents.
