Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees. And those men said to them, Why did you not bring Him?
And Peter followed Him from a distance, even to the court of the high priest. And going inside, he sat with the underofficers to see the end.
But some of them went away to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done.
Then the chief priests and the Pharisees assembled a sanhedrin, and said, What are we doing? For this man does many miraculous signs?
The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things about Him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers, that they might seize Him.
His parents said these things because they feared the Jews; for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should confess Him as Christ, he would be expelled from the synagogue.
