For they did not yet know the Scripture, that it was necessary for Him to rise from the dead.

My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue clings to My jaws, and You appoint Me to the dust of death

He will swallow up death forever! And the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from all faces. And He shall turn aside the reproach of His people from all the earth; for Jehovah has spoken.

Yours who died shall live, my dead body, they shall rise up. Awake and sing, those dwelling in the dust; for the dew of lights is your dew; and the earth shall cast out departed spirits.

I will ransom them from the hand of Sheol; I will redeem them from death. O death, where are your plagues? O Sheol, where is your ruin? Repentance is hidden from My eyes.

And answering, Jesus said to them, You err, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.

Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into His glory?

But they did not understand this saying, and it was hidden from them so that they might not perceive it. And they feared to ask Him about this word.

Then when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this to them. And they believed the Scripture, even the Word that Jesus said.

opening and setting forth that the Christ must have suffered, and to have risen from the dead, and that this is the Christ, Jesus, whom I proclaim to you.

But God raised Him up, loosening the throes of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it.

and that He was buried, and that He has been raised the third day, according to the Scriptures,
