For the words which You have given to Me, I have given to them. And they received and truly knew that I came out from beside You, and they believed that You sent Me.
I no longer call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master does. But I called you friends, because all things which I heard from My Father I made known to you.
And because of this we give thanks to God without ceasing, that having received the Word of hearing from us, you welcomed it as of God, not as a word of men, but as it is, truly the Word of God, which also works in you, the ones believing.
Therefore Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I went forth and have come from God. For I have not come from Myself, but that One sent Me.
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words which I speak to you I do not speak from Myself, but the Father, the One abiding in Me, He does the works.
For the rest then, brothers, we beg you and we exhort in the Lord Jesus, even as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, that you abound more.
I shall raise up a Prophet to them from among their brothers, One like you; and I will put My words in His mouth; and He shall speak to them all that I shall command Him.
