But a certain one of them, Caiaphas being high priest of that year, said to them, You know nothing,
Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
Then the chief priests and the scribes and the elders of the people were assembled to the court of the high priest, the one named Caiaphas.
upon the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, a word of God came on John the son of Zacharias in the deserted place.
But he did not say this from himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was about to die on behalf of the nation,
also Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the high priestly family.
Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Did God not make the wisdom of this world to be foolish?
But we speak wisdom among the perfect, but not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, the ones being caused to cease.
