Our fathers did not ponder Your wonders in Egypt; they did not remember Your many mercies, and they rebelled at the sea, at the Sea of Reeds.

Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the crowds, and He did not speak to them without a parable,

Jesus said to them, Have you understood all these things? They said to Him, Yes, Lord.

But He did not speak to them without a parable. And He explained all things to His disciples privately.

I have spoken these things to you in allegories. An hour comes when I will no longer speak to you in allegories, but concerning the Father I will plainly announce to you.

His disciples said to Him, Behold, now You speak openly and You say not one allegory.

Therefore the Jews argued with one another, saying, How can this One give us His flesh to eat?

Then many of His disciples having heard, they said, This Word is hard; who is able to hear it?

What is this word which He said, You will seek Me and will not find Me, and, Where I am, you are not able to come?

They did not know that He spoke to them of the Father.

Why do you not know My speech? It is because you are not able to hear My Word.

But a natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

But the word of the true proverb has happened to them: “The dog turning back to his own vomit;” also, the sow being washed returns to a wallowing in mud. Prov. 26:11

And we know that the Son of God has come, and He has given to us an understanding that we may know the True One, and we are in the True One, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and the life everlasting.
