Truly I know it is so; but how can man be just with God?

When they sin against You (for there is not a man who does not sin) and You have been angry with them, and have given them up before an enemy, and capturing them they are captured to the land of the enemy, far off or near;

O Jehovah the God of Israel, You are a righteous One. For we are left a survivor, as it is this day. Behold, we are before You in our guilt, for none is able to stand before You because of this.

How then can man be justified with God? Or how can one who is born of a woman be pure?

Behold, even the moon, and it is not bright; and the stars are not pure in His eyes;

And burned the anger of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram; his anger burned against Job, because he had justified himself rather than God.

You said, I am pure, without transgression; I am clean and no iniquity is in me;

For Job has said, I am righteous; also, God has turned away my right;

Is man more righteous than God? Or is a man more pure than his Maker?

And Job answered and said:

If You will keep iniquities, O Jehovah, O Lord, who shall stand?

and do not enter into judgment with Your servant, for not anyone living is just in Your sight.

Because by works of law not will be justified all flesh before Him, for through law is full knowledge of sin. Psa. 143:2
