While it is yet in its greenness, and not cut down, it dries out before every plant;
that the exulting of the wicked ones is near an end, and the joy of the godless one is for a moment?
Can the rush grow up without mire? Can the reed grass grow without water?
so are the paths of all those forgetting God; yea, the hope of the godless one shall perish,
And rivers will stink; and the Nile of Egypt will languish and dry up; the reed and the rush shall wither.
For he shall be like a juniper in the desert, and shall not see when good comes. But he shall live in the dry places in the wilderness, in a salt land that is not inhabited.
And the seed sown on the rocky places is this: the one hearing the Word, and immediately receiving it with joy,
Because “all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of men as the flower of grass; the grass was dried, and its flower fell off,
