My soul loathes my life; I will leave my complaint on myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

Do you intend to argue words, and the speeches that are as wind to cause despair?

And they said each man to his brother, We are truly guilty because of our brother whom we saw in distress of his soul, when he begged us, and we did not hear. So this distress has come to us.

My heart was hot within me; while the fire burned I was musing; I spoke with my tongue:

If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will loosen my face and be cheerful,

Even today my complaint is bitter; my hand is heavy over my groaning.

Beware! Do not turn to iniquity; for you have chosen this rather than affliction.
