I will say to God, Do not condemn me; make me know on what ground You contend with me.

How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my transgressions and my sin.

Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons while you searched out words;

And yet, Job, now hear my speech and give ear to all my words.

Besides that which I see, You teach me; if I have done iniquity, I will not do it again.

Behold this! We have searched it out; it is so. Hear it, and know it for yourself.

Or, Deliver me from an adversary’s hand? Or, Redeem me from the hand of terrifying ones?

How powerful are right speeches, but what does arguing from you argue?

Who can discern errors? Acquit me from secret faults,

I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you, My eye shall be on you.

As a ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is the reproving of a wise one on a hearing ear.

Give to a wise one, and he will be more wise; cause a just one to know and he will add to learning.

So that, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.

For we all stumble in many ways. If any one does not stumble in word, this one is a mature man, able also to bridle the whole body.
