Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons while you searched out words;

They listened to me and waited, and kept silence for my counsel.

And they waited for me like the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.

so then I say, Listen to me; I will make known my opinion, I also.

yea, I considered, and behold, not one of you proved Job wrong, nor answered his sayings;

And Elihu had waited for Job with words, because they were older than he in days.

Behold this! We have searched it out; it is so. Hear it, and know it for yourself.

The first in his cause seems to be a just one, but his neighbor comes and examines him.

A rich man is wise in his own eyes, but the discerning poor one examines him.
