For you have taken a pledge from your brother for nothing, and you have stripped the naked of their clothing.

For the ear heard, and blessed me; and the eye saw, and witnessed for me.

The blessing of the perishing came on me; and I made the widow’s heart to sing.

If I have seen any perish for lack of clothing, or there was no covering for the needy one;

if I have lifted up my hand against the orphan, when I saw my help in the gate;

the lambs will be for your clothing, and the he-goats the price for a field,

Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, that you should bring the wandering poor ones to your house? When will you see the naked ones and cover him, and you will not hide yourself from your flesh?

and has not oppressed a man, has not withheld the pledge, and plundering he has not plundered; he has given his bread to the hungry, and he has covered the naked ones with clothing,

So says Jehovah of Hosts, saying, Judge true judgment, and practice kindness and pity, each man with his brother.

You shall certainly give back the pledge to him as goes the sun; and he shall lie down in his own clothing, and shall bless you. And it shall be righteousness to you before Jehovah your God.
