By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until your return to the ground. For you have been taken out of it; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
For dying we die and are as water which is spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up. And God does not take a life, but has devised plans so that the outcast is not cast out from Him.
Man is not a ruler over the spirit, to restrain the spirit; and not he has power in the day of death. And there is no discharge in that war, and wickedness shall not deliver its possessors.
For the living know that they shall die; but the ones having died do not know anything, and not to them is any more a reward, for their memory is forgotten.
And, behold! Today I am going in the way of all the earth, and you know with all your heart and with all your soul that there has not failed one thing of all the good things which Jehovah your God has spoken concerning you; all of it has come to you; there has not one thing failed of it.
