And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah; and all the singers and the songstresses speak in their lamentations of Josiah to this day, and gave them as a statute in Israel; and behold, they are written in the Lamentations.

Behold, let that night be barren; let not joyful voice come in it.

Let the stars of its twilight be dark; let it look for light, but have none, let it wait for eyelids of the dawn.

Can you draw out the leviathan with a hook, or hold down his tongue with a cord?

None is so fierce as to dare to stir him up; and who is able to stand before Me?

The mighty ones are afraid from his arising; from the crashings they miss the way.

In that day Jehovah will call to account the sea monster, the darting serpent, with His great and fierce and strong sword; and the fleeing serpent, on the sea monster, the crooked serpent; and He shall slay the monster that is in the sea.

So Jehovah, the God of Hosts, the Lord, says this: Wailing shall be in all open squares, and they shall say in all the outside places, Alas! Alas! And they shall call the farmer to the mourning, and those knowing wailing to lamentation.

and saying, We piped to you, and you did not dance; we mourned to you, and you did not wail.

And He comes into the synagogue ruler’s house. And He saw a tumult, and weeping and much wailing.
