Sheol is naked before Him, and the Place of Ruin has no covering.
Heights of the heavens! What can you do? It is deeper than Sheol; what can you know?
the Place of Ruin and Death say, We have heard its fame with our ears.
For now I would have lain down and have been quiet; I would have slept. Then I would have been at rest,
For it is a fire that devours to the Place of Ruin, and it would root up all my gain.
Have death’s gates been opened to you; or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?
Who has gone before Me that I should repay? All under the heavens, it is to Me!
He who moves the mountains, and they do not know when He overturns them in His anger;
If I say: Surely the darkness shall fall on me; even the night shall be light around me.
If I go up to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there!
For will You do wonders for those dying? Or shall the departed spirits rise and thank You? Selah.
Sheol and destruction are before Jehovah; even more the hearts of the sons of men!
Sheol and destruction are not satisfied, and the eyes of man are not satisfied.
Sheol from below is stirred for you, to meet you at your coming; it stirs up the departed spirits for you, all the he-goats of the earth. It has raised all the kings of the nations from their thrones.
He reveals the deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells in Him.
And if they dig through into Sheol, from there My hand will take them. And if they go up to the heavens, from there I will bring them down.
and there is no creature unrevealed before Him; but all things are naked and having been laid open to His eyes, with whom is our account.
And they have a king over them, the angel of the abyss. In Hebrew his name was Abaddon, and in Greek he has the name Apollyon.
