to the left where He works, but I cannot see; He turns to the right, but I do not see Him.
And these You have hidden in Your heart; I know that this was with You.
But He knows the way with me. When I am tried, I shall come forth as gold.
Behold, I go forward, but He is not there; and backward, but I do not perceive Him;
And He gives rest, and who can condemn? And when He hides His face, who then can see Him? Even it may be against a nation and a man together,
How much less when you say you do not regard Him! Judgment is before Him, and you are waiting for Him.
Behold, He goes by me, and I do not see Him; and He passes on, but I do not perceive Him.
Until when, O Jehovah? Will You hide Yourself? Shall Your wrath burn like fire forever?
Truly, You are a God who hides Himself, O God of Israel, the Savior.
And I will wait for Jehovah, who hides His face from the house of Jacob; and I will look for Him.
