Listening, listen to my speech, and let this be your comfort;

Listening, listen to my word, and let my declaration be in your ears;

Hear now my reasoning, and attend to the arguments of my lips.

Are the comforts of God too little with you, or a word that deals gently with you?

I have heard many such things. You are all troublesome comforters.

Until when will you put an end to words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.

And Job answered and said:

Rise with me and I shall speak; then after I have spoken, you may mock.

And yet, Job, now hear my speech and give ear to all my words.

O wise men, hear my words; and you who know, give ear to me;

Why do you weigh out silver for that which is not bread, and your labor for what is not to satisfaction? Listening, listen to Me and eat the good; and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

Because of this it is needful for us more abundantly to take heed to the things having been heard that we should not slip away at any time.

And they told Jotham, and he went and stood on the top of Mount Gerizim. And he lifted up his voice and cried, and said to them, Listen to me, leaders of Shechem, and God shall listen to you.
