Woe to him who builds his house without righteousness, and his upper rooms without justice, his neighbor serves for nothing, and he does not give him for his work;
Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, has devoured us. He has crushed us. He has set us up as an empty vessel. He has swallowed us like a jackal. He has filled his belly with delicacies. He has cast me out.
And I will visit Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he has swallowed up. And the nations shall not flow together any more to him; yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.
All your enemies have opened their mouth against you; they hiss and gnash the teeth; they say, We have swallowed up. Surely this is the day for which we waited; we have found; we have seen.
But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of Heaven before men; for you do not enter, nor do you allow those entering to go in.
You shall betroth a wife, and another shall lie with her. You shall build a house, and you shall not live in it. You shall plant a vineyard, and shall not use its fruit.
