I have heard many such things. You are all troublesome comforters.
And Job answered and said:
How then do you comfort me with vanity? Yea, in your answers a treacherous act remains.
How powerful are right speeches, but what does arguing from you argue?
Are tasteless things eaten without salt? Or is there taste in the slime of an egg?
Reproach has broken My heart, and I am sick; and I waited for one to show pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
For whom You have stricken, they have persecuted; and they recount to the pain of those You pierced.
These, indeed, proclaim Christ out of self-seeking, not sincerely, thinking to bring affliction to my bonds.
So that, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
