Why do You hide Your face and count me for Your enemy?
And if if rise, You would hunt me as a lion; and again You show Yourself wonderful in me.
You renew Your witnesses against me, and increase Your anger with me; changes and warfare are with me.
I will say to God, Do not condemn me; make me know on what ground You contend with me.
His anger has torn, and retained animosity against me; He gnashes at me with His teeth; my Adversary sharpens his eyes at me.
And His anger glows against me, and He counts me as an adversary to Himself.
Why do you pursue me, as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
You changed to be cruel to me; You keep on assaulting me with the might of Your hand;
Oh that to me were one to listen to me! Behold my mark! Let the Almighty answer me, and let the Man of my contention write an indictment.
behold, He finds alienation on me; He considers me His enemy;
Why do You stand far away, O Jehovah? Will You hide in times of distress?
To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. Until when will You forget me, O Jehovah? Forever? Until when will You hide Your face from me?
Why do You hide Your face and forget our affliction and distress?
For our soul bows down to the dust; our belly holds fast to the earth.
O Jehovah, why do You cast off my soul; why do You hide Your face from me?
And I will wait for Jehovah, who hides His face from the house of Jacob; and I will look for Him.
The Lord was like an enemy; He swallowed up Israel; He swallowed up all his fortresses and destroyed his strongholds; and He increased mourning and weeping in the daughter of Judah.
And He said, I will hide My face from them; I will see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, sons in whom is no faithfulness.
But do not count him a hostile one, but warn him as a brother.
And Samuel said, And why do you ask me, since Jehovah has turned aside from you and is your adversary?
