Job 1:1

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

There was a man in the land of Uz, his name was Job. And this man was perfect and upright, and fearing God, and turning away from evil.

These were the sons of Dishan: Uz, and Aran.

And Jehovah said to Satan, Have you set your heart on My servant Job because there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil?

And to man He said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom! And to turn from evil is understanding.

Is not your fearing of God your confidence; your hope the integrity of your ways?

though I were the perfect one, I would not know my own soul; I despise my life.

And you, you shall look on men of ability out of all the people, who fear God, men of truth, hating unjust gain. And you place these over them as rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

The wise ones fear and turn from evil, but the fool passes over and is bold.

One walking in his uprightness fears Jehovah, but one being perverse in his ways despises Him.

The way of the upright one is to turn aside from evil ways; he keeping his soul watches his way.

Iniquity is covered by mercy and truth, and in the fear of Jehovah men turn aside from evil ways.

The just one walks in his integrity, blessed are his sons after him!

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear Jehovah and turn from evil.

The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil; I hate pride and loftiness, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth.

and all the mixed people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,

Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, living in the land of Uz. The cup also shall pass through to you; you shall be drunken and make yourself naked.

And though these three men were in its midst, Noah, Daniel, and Job, by their righteousness they should deliver only their souls, a statement of the Lord Jehovah.

and though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in its midst, as I live, a statement of the Lord Jehovah, they would deliver neither son nor daughter; they by their righteousness would deliver only their souls.

And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord, blameless .

You shall be perfect with Jehovah your God.

Behold, we call blessed the ones enduring. You have heard of the patience of Job, and you saw the end of the Lord, “that the Lord is full of compassion and merciful.” Psa. 103:8

Let him turn aside from evil, and let him do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it;
