Gathering I will gather them, a statement of Jehovah. No grapes will be on the vine, or figs on the fig tree; and the leaf withers. And I will give to them those who pass over them.
I will not hear their cry when they fast; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering I will not be pleased with them. But I will consume them by the sword, and by famine, and by the plague.
So Jehovah says this over the prophets who prophesy in My name, and I did not send them; yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land: By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters. It sends out its roots by the stream, and it will not fear when the heat comes; but its foliage will be green; and it is not anxious in the year of drought, and not will it cease from producing fruit.
And they will eat up your harvest and your food, and they will eat up your sons and your daughters. They will eat up your flocks and your herds; they will eat up your vines and your fig trees. One shall beat down your fortified cities with the sword, those in which you trust.
So the Lord Jehovah says this: Behold, My anger and My fury will be poured out on this place, on man and on animal, and on the trees of the field, and on the fruit of the ground. And it will burn and will not be put out.
And I have poured out on them My disgust. With the fire of My wrath I consumed them. I have given their way on their heads, a statement of the Lord Jehovah.
And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, of which she has said, They are my rewards that those loving me have given to me. And I will set them for a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
Though the fig tree shall not blossom, and fruit is not on the vines; the product of the olive fails, and the fields make no food; the flock is cut off from the fold, and no herd is in the stalls,
And I called for a drought in the land, and on the mountains, and on the grain, and on the new wine, and on the oil, and on that which the ground brings forth, and on man, and on livestock, and on all the labor of your palms.
And I will rebuke for you the one devouring, and he shall not cause to decay for you the fruit of your ground against you; and not will your vine miscarry for you in the field, says Jehovah of Hosts.
And seeing one fig tree by the road, He went up to it, and found nothing on it except leaves only. And He said to it, Let there be no more fruit from you forever. And the fig tree immediately dried up.
For the sun rose with the burning heat and dried up the grass, and its flower fell out, and the beauty of its appearance perished; so also the rich one will fade away in his journeys. Isa. 40:6, 7
