Though Babylon should go up to the heavens, and though she should fortify her strong heights, ones devastating shall come from Me to her, a statement of Jehovah.
And they said, Come, let us build a city and a tower with its head in the heavens, and make a name for ourselves, that we not be scattered on the face of all the earth.

Because ones devastating has come on her, on Babylon, and is capturing her mighty men, their bows are shattered; for Jehovah the God of recompenses repaying shall repay.
So says Jehovah of Hosts, Baring, the broad walls of Babylon shall be laid bare, and her high gates shall be burned with fire. And the peoples shall labor as for vanity, and a people as for fire; and they shall be weary.
The king answered and said, Is this not great Babylon that I have built for the house of the kingdom, by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?
And if they go into exile before their enemies, from there I will command the sword, and it will kill them. And I will set My eyes on them for evil, and not for good.
